I absolutely fell in love with this world and these characters. Pirates, evil dead, and magic .... what else do you need? The development of the mc throughout the story was mind blowing. I could not help identifying with the struggles she was having to trust and rely on anyone but herself. Her relationship with the other mc also developed very well. ::spoiler alert:: I was hoping to see a relationship blossom between the two however book 2 might be when this happens.
The story was unique and I feel the characters were also unique. I did not feel that I was reading just another same old young adult fantasy book. I was left wanting more and needing to find out what happens with these characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next for them!
