This book was full of adventure and action! The writing style was quite different than what I was used to. The language and descriptions were a little flowery and the source of the dialogue was sometimes not clear. This took a long time to get used to and pulled me out of the book for the first half. I was also pretty confused and could have used a little more world building.
I did really enjoy the characters! Buc was so badass and too smart for her own good. She always had a plan and I couldn't wait to see what it was! Eld had this quiet strength that I loved. His dedication and adoration for Buc was so sweet.
I enjoyed learning about their pasts and want to know more. Buc's past kind of came full circle, but I was confused as to how that connected to the overall story. It seemed kind of random and abrupt.
This book left me with questions, and I am interested to see where the story goes!
