This book was fantastic! I was honestly expecting to love it, because it sounded like a fantasy that was right up my alley, but it blew away even my highest expectations! Sometimes fantasy books can get bogged down with the same old tropes and storylines. But this was not the case here! This book was unique and fun the whole way through! It has pirates! Dead gods! Shapeshifting mages! Magic! And just some really fun characters. Buc is a girl who has a Sherlock type mind. She can solve riddles and puzzles in the blink of an eye! Eld is a former soldier who is Buc's partner in crime and the muscle of the operation. I loved reading about their adventures and can't wait to see what they get up to next!
