The book starts out with Buc and Eld trying to explain off a multiple murder. I am so curious about the mages, the trading company, the corrupt politics, and how the pirates in the synopsis come into the story. I like the first person POV and would LOVE to spend more time in Buc's head, as fantasy involving pirates is probably my favorite thing ever!!
