The cover is fun and the author is clearly talented, but I just couldn't get into this excerpt. I wasn't drawn in by the premise and I just wasn't interested in what was going on in these opening chapters. Because of the strength of the writing, I'm sure fans of the genre will really enjoy this one, but I'm going to bow out.
