Dead gods, a pirate queen, shapeshifting mages, and a Sherlockian teenager sound like my kind of read, 100 percent, all the way, let me have it. However..that first look left me on the fence. It didn't help me at all with knowing if I had to have it or not. It looks like I'd either love it or it would be a huge let down.
