Gods, and pirates, and shapeshifter's OH MY! "Yes google..I mean shapeshifter..not shoplifter". It's all my favorite fantasy characters rolled in to one. My first concern though is if all these players will have an adequate role in the story or if it will end up like all those failed movie attempts with "way" too many famous actors crammed into one film. The potential is definitely there.
The other thing I must mention is the cover. My very first impression was that it was a thriller of some sort; not fantasy. Second thought is that it has those awful romance cover vibes; just an overall low budget look with a random person featured on the front. Nothing against the model but I don't believe they needed one for the cover of this book. She just seems out of place.
