What I really liked about the start of this novel is that it dives right into the action. This isn't my usual type of read, but I like that it really sucks you in. I enjoyed reading from Buc's perspective, and although I don't feel that the first look gave me a full grasp of the world that she lives in, I'm interested to know more. Ultimately, I think it's quite successful particularly because this isn't usually my type of read and I wasn't a fan of the cover to be honest. So I thought I would feel differently about it, but the writing surprised me.
