I’ll admit that I think WWII has been extremely overdone in the historical fiction world. I think the potency of the topic has been diluted through a saturated market. Everyone’s jumping on a bandwagon instead of writing books from the heart. So this didn’t exactly call to me, even though the premise has some unique qualities. I didn’t find the writing especially compelling, but I’d still be willing to give it a try. Perhaps this one will be one of the exceptions on the topic.
