I don’t care for YA, so I wouldn’t be interested in reading this normally. However, I do have a soft spot for historical fiction, so I went in with an open mind. The writing is good and all, but there are just a ridiculous amount of books set during WWII (a period I love, by the way), so I’m really not interested—there’s nothing here that sets this book apart to make up for that over saturation.
