Amanda McCrina’s The Silent Unseen is a young adult story set in Poland towards the end of World War II. Told in first person, the story is interesting from the start, with young Maria having been arrested. The subsequent chapter is told by her brother Kostya, who is part of the Ukrainian resistance.
