I adore historical YA, but have never heard of this author. I was very much looking forward to this first impression and it did not disappoint. I was very intrigued with Maria’s chapter and am invested in her getting home. I had a harder time getting into the second chapter since the action is already ongoing but this is because I am not familiar with the history of the Ukrainian resistance. I would love the chance to read this and to educate myself.
