A perfectly timed release of a heart-wrenching story

I really love WW2, historical fiction books, so I knew from just reading the blurb that I would like this one. I wish I had logged in to claim it quickly because I feel like this will be one of the best releases of the year for my personal favorite genres. I like the historical accuracy of this first look. Most WW2 books focus on Germany, so I really appreciated the author bringing light to specifically Poland and Ukraine during WW2. I also appreciated the map that was included at the beginning of the book. It would be helpful to be able to refer back to this map when reading through Maria's journey to find her brother. I also liked the dual point-of-view format, it makes it more interesting to read.
