Wow. I did not see that one coming. I thought for sure that I had parts of it figured out, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I don't even know what to say about the ending. I'm totally shocked! I did feel like it ended too abruptly, though. I wanted more. No, I need more from Alica and Theo. It's almost like I lived in their world and have just lost two people I felt deeply about, both of whom I never even truly knew. This is a great example of an unreliable narrator. You begin to trust Theo and what he says before he shocks you and makes you reevaluate everything you thought you knew.

While I believe he was sincere, it brings me back to the beginning when he talks about escaping himself and how he saved himself from turning into someone within the Grove. But, maybe he should be there. But then again, he didn't actually do anything, I guess at first, and it's understandable to hate the person who comes between you and your wife. So how do I feel? I'm torn, and that's what makes this such a great book. You're left questioning every bit of it, trying to determine what's true and what's not and trying to place your thoughts on one side of the line or the other, but it's all so complicated.

Kudos to Alex Michaelides for pulling off a book that will have everyone talking and everyone taking sides! This is definitely an author to be on the lookout for!
