OK SO… this one really surprised me. It was SUPER hyped all over #bookstagram so I wasn't sure if it was going to live up to the hype. It appeared on many reading lists and even won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Thriller.
This book was a domestic thriller that involved husband and wife, Alicia Benson who was convicted of the murder of her husband. After she was convicted she didn't speak a single word. She was institutionalized and still never spoke a word. Theo, a psychoanalyst, is extremely interested in this case and in particular, Alicia. He finds himself a job at the facility Alicia is getting treatment and is determined to get her to speak.
I was completely blown away by the ending and did not see it coming (despite reading hundreds over thrillers over the past decade). It was an intense read that had me hooked from the start – I could not put this one down!
