What a Twist!

I have to give this book major props for that twist. I pride myself in being able to tell where things are going (to the chagrin of whoever is watching a movie/tv show with me), but Alex Michaelides smacks you on the side of the head good with that ending. Not many thrillers have shocked me with a twist, and this one was so smartly written that I had to stop and say "WHAT", and stare off for a few seconds as my brain processed.
While a bit slow paced plot-wise, it was somehow still page turning and a quick read; I'm not sure how he did it. The beginning hooks you with the "why", and the rest just strings you along until the un-put-downable, turn the pages faster ending. The two different POVs were essential I think, with the mystery behind the actions (and subsequent silence) of Alicia Berenson enough of a reason to binge this even though Theo's parts were a little less compelling.
