Despite a writing style I would describe as dry and rather clinical, this book definitely held my interest. I read it in a day and was glued to the pages I did not anticipate the big reveal at all. I like psychological thrillers when they're done well and while this was not the kind that kept my heart racing, it was not short on the intrigue.

I was recommended this book by someone in my book club. She described it as the next Gone Girl. Now while I can say I certainly enjoyed it, I don't think it remotely deserves such a comparison. What it lacked, for me, was the twists and turns, ups and downs, the dynamism. Silent Patient essentially has just one plot twist. Not that it isn't a good one but once it was revealed that was it. In all honesty I was hoping for a story that had more layers to it. Still, I would recommend it.
