**I received this book as my January 2019 Selection for Book of the Month Club.**

This is a hard book to review without giving anything away, but I will say that the twist got me. Hard. I initially gave this book a 3/5, but after thinking it over, it's really 4-4.5/5.

To focus on what I can discuss:

+ It's obvious Michaelides did a lot of research when it came to this book as it mostly takes place in a mental care facility and during Theo's POV chapters (a psychotherapist).

+ Michaelides is also a great writer. This is his first book, but he has written screenplays.

- Some aspects of the book are super cliche/trope-y, but I feel like that's expected with most thrillers and are hard to avoid??
