3.5⭐️ I gotta say, I think I have an unpopular opinion with this one. After seeing this book everywhere and as one of the best goodreads books of the year, I knew I had to read it. It was good, but it was not one of my all time favorite thrillers like it was for many others.

Alicia Berenson is silent. She had a life that was basically perfect, and then one day she shoots her husband. Ever since this moment, she has not spoken a word. People find her story extremely intriguing, and a psychotherapist named Alex becomes determined to get her to talk and unravel the mystery.

The premise of the story was super interesting and drew me in. Why was Alicia not talking? I liked how the story was from Alex’s point of view, but also included some of Alicia’s journal, so we knew some of her thoughts. The character development of both characters was interesting, and I liked how much we really got to know Alex’s past. Unfortunately for me, I guessed the twist super quickly. I must read too many psychological thrillers. I also wish there could have been a little more of the story after the twist was revealed. Overall I liked it and think it was a good book, it just wasn’t one of my favorites.
