Celadon Books is killing it this year with The Silent Patient (and The Whisper Man that followed). This book was so twisted, I LOVED IT.
Lately, I've become frustrated with the thriller/suspense genre because I find that many times I have predicted the ending far too early on. With this book, it too me sometime to figure out was going on and I loved the twist.
This book is told from the point of view of a doctor who accepts a new job after becoming obsessed with one patients condition/story. He is extremely determined to find out why she is mute and what has brought her here.
You'll slowly start to piece this one together but that does not change the genius that is this ending. You may feel shock but you'll also feel a bit empathetic.
