This was such a good book, I read it all within one day! It was a bit slow, but there were so many unexpected twists throughout the Silent Patient to keep my interest and attention. The book follows the story of patient Alicia Berenson who is an artist and hadn’t spoken a word since she murdered her husband. Before her husband was murdered, everything about Alicia’s life seemed normal and maybe even perfect. The big question throughout the book was “why did she kill him?”
The story is narrated by Theo Faber who is a psychotherapist, who starts working at The Grove, which is the mental care facility that Alicia is at. Theo is determined to uncover the truth behind what happened between Alicia and her husband and why she killed him and refuses to speak. Theo then begins working with Alicia, and because she won’t speak he gets her paint to try to get through to her through art. There was so much more to this book, it’s definitely worth reading!
