This excerpt started out so captivating! I was immersed in the storyline right off the bat. The journal entry at the beginning was a perfect way to start, opening up with the wife’s thoughts when her husband was still alive. This also gives the reader the chance to see how the husband appears to be sweet and loving towards his wife. Then as the chapters start we get the viewpoint of an outsider investigating the whole situation of the killing. He gives others thoughts as to what happened and why while also giving his own thoughts. He brings the reader into the story captivating their attention. I love stories that have to do with an outsider trying to figure out the whys and how’s of a certain situation they they appear to not be a part of. I will definitely be picking up this book to read it in its entirety.
