The perfect plot twist you didn’t see coming! The beginning of the book has you questioning which direction the book could take and keeps you on your toes throughout.

While it seems obvious to dislike Alicia given the circumstances surrounding her silence, Michaelides has a way of painting her in a light that has you rooting for her despite the violent accusations against her.

Theo takes the reader along with him in his mission to break Alicia’s silence, all while unwraveling the events that brought her to the Grove. The author has a way of writing that allows you to empathize with more than one character which I appreciate. A quick read, perfect for a vacation book! It kept me guessing the backstory the entire time and the book does a good job at not providing many hints to the plot twist that seemingly comes out of nowhere. One of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read.
