2019 is turning out to be a phenomenal year for thriller fiction. “The Silent Patient” is Alex Michaelides debut novel and this book lives up to all the hype. I think Mr. Michaelides has set a high-bar for thrillers and he is going to be a tough author to beat for this year. This book surrounds a dead husband, a convicted wife who is fragile, artistic, and totally noncommunicative (hence the “silent” patient), and a psychotherapist who is mesmerized by and tries to treat the incarcerated (insanely so) spouse of the deceased. This book is a rush of emotions and the back story only enhances the tale. For all you thriller lovers out there….do NOT miss reading this one. I’m sitting here in the middle of the night freaking out. Well done and bravo!
