I loved everything about Alex Michaelides' The Silent Patient. From the first page I knew this book would be right up my alley. A murder mystery (check), a traumatized woman never speaks again (check), and a therapist determined to get to the bottom of the mystery (always here for that!) - I knew this book was going to be a winner.
This book was all over the book forums last year, and for good reason. The writing is so skillful and the plot so twisty and suspenseful, that the pages practically turn themselves. I must have been holding my breath half the time I was reading! By the time I reached the final twist in The Silent Patient, my mouth was agape in shock and I had to explain the whole story to my curious husband who was nearby watching me in amusement.
