Not the hit I was hoping for.
I’m not sure if the fact that I went into this knowing there was a huge twist altered my ultimate enjoyment of said twist ending, but I was slightly disappointed.
This book was written so well. For the most part I was completely on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. And I don’t believe the “shocking twist” was entirely terrible... it was just a little stale feeling. Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were all wonderfully developed. The writing was intelligent and engaging.
I just wish that the ending left me with more. I can definitely see why others love it so much. I can absolutely see why this book is raved about and why it was a Goodreads 2019 choice awards winner.
