I’m not sure if I just had high expectations for some reason (maybe all the positive reviews?) Or if the reason is because I work in the mental heath field... but this book didn’t reach where I wanted it to.
The writing was perfectly fine.
The story was okay, and the ending is completely what saved the book for me. The ending ended up making everything else worth it, because I didn’t see it coming until a page before they blatantly tell you what’s going on. So that part I did enjoy. As for the rest, I almost wish I had known the ending sooner because I think it would’ve added more color to the story.
It’s almost like it’s black and white until the explosion of color at the end of the book.
