The Silent Patient is quite the debut novel for Alex Michaelides. It follows the attempt by Theo Faber to convince a convicted murderer speak again after having fallen silent, allegedly after having murdered her husband. What follows is quite the rollercoaster.
Alex Michaelides makes you feel for the characters, both love and hate, some for all the wrong reasons and some for the right. It’s a quick read, but that doesn’t mean Michaelides has skimped on the description of the characters or the action. Not to mention, every time you think you have it figured out you discover just how wrong you are, right up to the very end. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good mystery/thriller.
