Loved!
After she murders her fashion photographer husband, painter Alicia Berenson never speaks another word. She is convicted of the crime and admitted to The Grove—a high security hospital. Theo Faber, a psychotherapist, has been wanting to help Alicia since he first heard her story. When a position opens up at The Grove, Theo applies for and gets the job. But how close to a patient is too close? Can Theo help Alicia without losing himself along the way?
There isn’t a ton I can say here without giving too much of the plot away, so this is probably going to be on the shorter side. A few different friends suggested I read this sooner rather than later and they were totally right. The first 60% was good but not great—I’d have rated it a solid 3/5. The last 40% though—that was good! At the beginning I, very briefly, had the twist figured out but then dismissed it. I wouldn’t be a true lover of mysteries and thrillers if I didn’t try to figure out the end, would I?
