This is an intriguing thriller by a debut author about Alicia Berenson who is found by the police hovering over her husband after he has been shot five times in the head. She is taken to the hospital where she does not speak and remains silent as she is found not guilty by way of insanity. Six years later as she continues her silence she begins working with a psychotherapist named Theo in the hope that he may get her to speak again and find out the secrets of what happened that fateful night. This book is largely about Theo trying to find ways to pry this information from her. I don't wish to spoil it so I will just say that I enjoyed this book but I don't know if the hype surrounding it is warranted. In the end it left me feeling as if the story was lackluster or at least the ending and wrap up was for me.
