The Silent Patient was a good, engrossing read, but I wasn't as invested in the story as I thought I would be. I found that the story-line was a bit bland and drawn out, and I didn't feel motivated to turn the pages faster to find out what was coming. It wasn't until the twist at the end that I truly bought into the hype. It had me stop in my tracks and say, "wait, whaaaaaaaaat?!" and then want to go back and reread it to see what clues I had missed along the way. With how many thrillers I read, I really appreciate a creative twist that you can't see coming, and The Silent Patient definitely delivered in that aspect. Overall, I would recommend it for thriller-lovers, but I wouldn't say it was my favorite of 2019
