I am a big fan of psychological thrillers and I do think this was a very well done debut. Alicia is an accused murder who remains in a locked facility, not speaking to anyone, since placed there after she shot her husband in their home. Therapist Theo, feels he is the one person who can help her. Theo is dealing with many of his own issues and the stress of the job and personal life lead him to make bad decisions. When we get to read Alicia's journal entries, then things started getting more interesting. Plenty of twists and turns, but maybe since I do read many in this genre, this effort seemed to me to be a B- or C+. All in all an excellent story, but did not knock my socks off. I guess after reading other's reviews I had higher expectations.
