Destination, not nearly as good as the journey.

Lots of hype surrounding this book from several sources. I have had this on my TBR for a bit, not usually one to jump on the hype wagon. Alas here I am, having finished the book. It was a fast-paced read, mostly because the chapters were short, and I wanted to get to the end.

I guessed the ending around 85% ish (don't want to give any spoilers) into the book, so not extremely predictable. The end was an interesting twist. I think I enjoyed the journey more than the destination. The story was about Alicia who murders her husband, stops speaking completely, and is sentenced to a psychiatric hospital. Therapists try to get her to speak to no avail, even after years. There is a cast of supporting characters all playing an important role. The characters were pretty polarizing, strong feelings about each, good or bad.

A good murder mystery book for sure. Pick it up and enjoy!
