The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides is a thriller with creepy vibes and characters. I found it hard to put down. I did, however, guess the ending plot twist fairly early in the book even though it wasn't super obvious.
Theo is a psychotherapist and the narrator of this book. Alicia is a patient who hasn’t spoken since being found guilty of killing her husband. Though she was convicted, she was placed in a psychiatric ward rather than jail. Theo finds Alicia’s story intriguing and becomes obsessed with becoming her therapist in order to help her speak again. Meanwhile, he’s also certain that his wife is cheating on him. Theo spends most of his time working to solve both mysteries.
This book was eerie and disturbing and the characters were all creepy. I’m not typically a fan of thrillers, but I enjoyed this one and found it difficult to put down.
