This book was a classic psychological thriller based in a psychiatric facility setting. The main characters are a psychiatrist and a patient that presents as mute and mysterious.
I was very excited for this book as it had come highly recommended by most people who had read it before me, however I was left feeling extremely disappointed. I am aware I am one of the few that did not fall head over heels in love with this book. The book was fairly interesting in plot as well as style of writing. The challenge that I struggled with was around the ending feeling predictable. I was tempted not to finish. I powered through until the end as I hate to add books to my “Do Not Finish” list. After finishing the book I was left wanting of a better ending. Since reading this I have not read anything else from this author. I may be missing out, but I am willing to take that risk.
