I am not going to be silent about The Silent Patient. It’s amazing! I couldn’t stop turning the pages, but at the same time I didn’t want it to end.

Alicia Berenson murdered her husband and then never uttered another word. She is then locked up in a secure psychiatric unit. Psychotherapist Theo Faber is determined to help Alicia, get her to talk, and find out her side of the story. As he works with Alicia, he gets more and more drawn to her story, more motivated to find out what really happened. There are twists and turns along the way. More than once I was surprised by a plot twist!

I loved learning more about Theo during his quest to figure out what happened the night Alicia’s husband was murdered. Why is he so fascinated by Alicia? The answer is complex and definitely surprising! Overall, The Silent Patient was a great debut novel. I will definitely be reading more from Alex Michaelides.

Thank you to Celadon Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
