The Silent Patient was a great read and a unique addition to the psychological thriller genre. Alex Michaelides skillfully weaves together different story lines, and keeps you guessing the whole way through. He leads you to believe that you know where the story is going, all while planting little seeds to bring you to the great twist at the end. While authors in this genre can often make you feel like the story is getting predictable, Michaelides pushes just far enough before he reveals the true story.
It was a quick read and left me thinking about all of the possibilities every time I put it down. The addition of the Greek mythology added another interesting layer and a deeper symbolism that I really appreciated in the end. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for something unique that will keep you on your toes until the very end.
