This book is a psychological thriller focusing on a woman convicted of murdering her own husband in cold blood, her refusal to speak about the murder (or anything since then), and the young psychotherapist who is determined to get her to speak again.
Right off the bat, this book had a lot of buzz and already had great reviews by the time I received it as part of my book subscription. Let me just say that this book met all of the expectations I had for it, which rarely happens for me. The way Michaelides was able to dive into the characters and really focus on the mind of a killer was absolutely fascinating, and I could not put this book down.
The twist....THE TWIST. It took me a second to pick my jaw back up off the floor after the twist finally came. It was not what I had expected, and I think I am usually pretty good at guessing where a thriller is going. Overall, this is a great book and I would recommend it to almost anyone.
