A Good Slow Burn
I will say, it took me a minute to get reading. Once I hit page 50, I got sucked in and finished the last 250 pages until 1AM.
The more I think about The Silent Patient, the more I really enjoyed the book.
The wife, Kathy, her plot bored me. I found myself skipping over lines because I wanted to interact more with Alicia. However, once she got into her acting classes, I really wanted to see where it led.
I do love when a book wraps up everything in a neat bow at the end. I figured the twist was coming, and I’m not surprised I was right. However, the very ending was surprising to me. Some of my favorite characters once again were the minor characters. The art dealer, the cousin, great twists. This was a great example of a solid ending wrapped in a bow. 4 stars.
