I received this book through Book of the Month, and read it in less than three days. It was a quick, fast-paced read that had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. The writing style was intriguing, as it switched between Theo’s perspective and diary entries from Alicia’s journal. Theo, a psychotherapist, takes on a new job so that he can treat Alicia, who hasn’t spoken a word since she killed her husband. Theo is determined, or some would say obsessed, to help Alicia find her voice. He begins treating her and delving into her past for clues about what could have brought her to kill her husband and why she won’t speak of it.

This book had me engaged the entire time. The twist at the end was one that I did not see coming and had my heart rate up! This was an excellent debut from a new author. Five stars recommend!
