This seems like a very interesting concept, a twist on the usual crime novel. I have wanted to read this book for a while, as it keeps popping up on groups I belong to. I loved the chance to read the first look, and am very intrigued by how the novel may progress. As someone who suffers from mental disorders, this passage really struck me:
"At the time I didn’t understand. But that’s how therapy works. A patient delegates his unacceptable feelings to his therapist; and she holds everything he is afraid to feel, and she feels it for him. Then, ever so slowly, she feeds his feelings back to him. As Ruth fed mine back to me."
I feel like this book will speak to me emotionally, and I would love the chance to read and review it!
