This book is a wonderfully written contemporary/young adult book that takes place in a quiet town, or is it? You will be able to travel through Harlow Prout’s life, including her struggles as a sixteen-year-old girl (and other characters as well) in her town. What I loved the most about this book are the POV’s it has to help you get even more immersed in the story and its complex plot. I do not want to give too much information or details, however, this story does discuss many triggering topics such as suicide, depression, self-harm, animal cruelty(and death), violence, abuse, cancer, and chemotherapy, etc.
On the other hand, if you don’t get triggered by this you will learn a lot about how important mental health and support is, mostly with teenagers. If you liked We Were Liars and One of Us is Lying, you will probably like this book too! (IN MY OPINION). I liked this book a lot since it has a complex yet engaging plot with good characters that change throughout each chapter. Lastly, the book is very well written and easy to understand and the descriptions are on point! Wonderful!
