So the cover of this book is amazing. It really draws the eye and I typically like sea themed books. But this one was too depressing for me. I should have probably known that from the blurb, but I was hoping to give it a chance. Also, there wasn't an immediate hook that drew me in. Even after reading three chapters, I was still unsure what the main plot line was going to be. I also did not connect with the characters immediately either. Again, I think this was mainly because this is just not my kind of book as the writing itself was well done. I just mainly read for escapism and fun and something that deals with such heavy depressive issues totally ruins that fun vibe for me. However, I realize there are other people who would probably enjoy such a book and even connect deeply with the characters. For me, this was a did not finish, simply because it was not for me.
