Family, Friendship, Love, and a town in danger of the sea

I could not put this book down and finished it within a day. Looking back the characters were a bit strange and the plot not too in depth, but at the same time the author created a world that immediately sucked me in. There were discussions and reactions of someone attempting suicide and how they live with their mental illness. As someone with anxiety panic disorder I could relate to the character on their medicine and both the frustration of the fog and relief mental medication it can provide. This novel deals with the ideas of what it is like to live in a small town where everyone knows your secrets. There is no where to run and a lot of forgiveness from everyone though they do not always forget. Wonderful writing and a beautiful story that would make an excellent beach read as you could listen to the waves as you read and imagine the town in danger of succumbing to them. Also the cover art is simply gorgeous!
