I read about half way through the prologe or opening or whatever it was, and hated it. I considered giving up right then. It seemed like experimental writing and I was not interested. Fortunately, I wasn't half way through but almost all the way through and saw the beginning of the actual story, and so I carried on. So far, the characters are darn flawed, but I still want to know more. And with distinct setting details of the Maine coast, what's not to love? This is on the to-read list!
