Sharp with Empathy that doesn't disappoint

The Sea is Salt and So Am I has a strong voice that seems to clearly understand and empathize with the main character. I love that right off the bat there is a mixture of narrative methods from dialogue, to prose, to modern text dialogue. Additionally, I love that there is a trigger warning clearly displayed within the book. This really is a huge help and needed for readers who need to know about these triggers. I appreciate that this is included. It shows that the author truly cares about the reader and has thought about them through the whole process. I am curious to see how the characters develop and what happens with the slight cliff hanger of an ending that is shown in this snippet!
