I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first six chapters of Cassandra Hartt's novel, "The Sea Is Salt and So Am I"!
Even though the genre is listed as "Young Adult" (which I am not), I feel that the topic, characters, and plot, would be of interest to anyone.
I loved how Ms. Hartt provided greater insight into the minds of the main characters by dedicating chapters to each of them. Chapter Six, "Tommy", provided the thoughts of a teen that is struggling with the thoughts and actions of suicide.
Suicide is a tough topic to discuss, and I'm sure to write about. The author has done a superb job by telling this story through the eyes of the main character, his family, his friends, and acquaintances.
I very much look forward to reading the remaining chapters!
PS The book cover is perfect!
