For me, this book was on the verge of three and four stars. Overall, I thought the book was pretty good but there are definitely improvements that could be made. I thought that Zilan was really annoying. She only ever talked about how horrible her life has been in the past and how she's so inexperienced but can do all of these amazing things. It just got on my nerves because every single chapter had Zilan putting herself down and I just thought it was too much. I also didn't really like either of the cousins. I thought they were rude and only had one personality. Yufei was always hungry and Wenshu was a rude intellectual. That's all they focused on throughout the whole book.
But the ending! OMG! I wasn't expecting it at all and honestly, it brought the book from three stars to four stars. I wasn't a fan of the ending but only because it made me sad. Which ultimately made the book a good book because it made me feel things.
