The cover of the novel The Scarlet Alchemist by Kylie Lee Baker is very pretty. I love the color scheme of it and the photo helped to pull me in made me want to read the story. Than the "summary" definitely did. In this book we follow Zilan a girl who wants to become a royal Alchemist and help to provide for her family. She has to go through many hardships throughout the book, Becomes closer to the royal family and puts herself in danger doing this. I loved the plot of this story it pulled me in wanting more and more. The story is very well written and pulls you in right away. I definitely reccomend reading this very interesting story about Zilan and her trials and her hardships. I really loved the time period in China it takes place in too and hope to read more. I can't wait for the second book to come out.
