The writing alone had me. the sentences are long but done well. They pulled me along rather than left me without breath. This is an impressive skill and I am intrigued. The images she describes are at once detailed enough that I can imagine what is happening but not so detailed that I am exhausted. These two things are not at all easy to achieve and I am here for more. I had not heard good things about the authors previous works. Nothing in great detail just that it wasn't good and when there are so many YA fantasy books out there I don't waste my time on the not so great books. The cover is perfect. It is elegant and fierce. The character depicted has fire in her eyes and I need to know her story. This is a complete package and I will absolutely be buying myself a copy if I do not receive a copy from here and maybe even then because there is something about going to the store and bringing home a new world.
